Personal Care Assistant (PCA) (Full and Part Time Positions Available)
Personal Care Aides (PCAs) Job Description
Reports to: Healthcare Coordinator
Summary:
PCAs provide direct care and support to participants, assisting with personal hygiene, meals, and activities while fostering a safe and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist participants with personal care, including bathing, toileting, and dressing.
- Monitor participants’ well-being and report any concerns to the RN or Program Coordinator.
- Help with meals, including serving and monitoring dietary needs.
- Support participants in daily activities and therapeutic programs.
- Assist participants with self-care tasks (bathing, dressing, toileting, eating and hygiene) when needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for participants.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall operations and mission of the center.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Nurse Aide (preferred).
- Experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor.
- CPR and First Aid certification
Physical Requirements:
- Capability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to bend, kneel, and perform tasks that require physical effort, such as assisting with personal hygiene.
- Comfortable standing and walking for most of the shift.
Activity Coordinator
Reports to: Program Director
Summary:
The Activity Coordinator plans, organizes, and facilitates engaging activities that promote social, physical, and emotional well-being for participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a monthly calendar of activities that cater to participants’ interests and abilities.
- Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, and exercise programs.
- Coordinate special events, outings, and community engagement opportunities.
- Adapt activities to meet the needs of participants with varying levels of ability.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and ensure proper setup for activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall operations and mission of the center.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Social Work, or related field (preferred).
- 1-2 years of experience in activity coordination or a similar role.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for working with diverse populations.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- CPR and First Aid Certification

- Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage in activities for extended periods.
- Capability to lift up to 30 pounds to set up or clean activity spaces.
- Comfortable bending, reaching, and moving supplies as needed.
