About Us
About Stanly Adult Care Center, Inc.
Supporting Adults with Care and Compassion
Stanly Adult Care Center became incorporated in December 2021 and is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We purchased a vacant childcare facility located at 204 Anderson Road, Albemarle, NC. This facility will be renovated to provide adult day health services and respite care to Stanly and surrounding counties. Our services will be available to adult residents (18 years and older) of Stanly, Montgomery, Anson, Rowan, and Cabarrus Counties.
Adult day health services offer participants meaningful activities, interaction with friends, nutritious meals, health care services (such as health monitoring and medication administration), assistance with personal care (bathing and hair care) and transportation. Participants’ families will benefit from adult day services by receiving respite, or a break, from caregiving and can continue their own lives, which may include working, participating in community activities, and raising children. Currently there are no adult day health services in Stanly or Montgomery Counties.
Stanly Adult Care Center, Inc. will be certified by the North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services as a combination day care/day health center. Our goal is to be the premier provider of Adult Day Health Services in our area.
Our Goals and Objectives
- Participants will be provided supervision and health care in a safe, homelike setting.
- Participants will participate in appropriate enriching activities and develop nurturing relationships to improve their emotional and social well-being.
- Participants will maintain or improve their level of functioning for as long as possible and continue to live at home rather than in expensive institutional alternatives such as assisted living/nursing home facilities.
- Family caregivers will experience peace of mind and decreased stress levels while they work or take care of personal matters during the day.
- Family caregivers will receive education and support to better prepare them to meet caregiving demands.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide safe, compassionate, and exceptional adult day health care services that will offer meaningful, individually tailored programs and care designed to enhance the quality of life of adults with physical or mental impairment while providing respite care for families and caregivers.
Our Vision
Vision: Our vision is to be the community’s premier adult day health care provider of services that promote health, wellness, support, and peace of mind for our clients and their families
Foundational Operational Philosophy Stanly Adult Care Center, Inc.
Stanly Adult Care Center, Inc. was built on the belief that every person deserves to live with dignity, purpose, and compassion, regardless of age or health condition. We are not simply providing a service — we are creating a place where people can continue to experience life and age gracefully with purpose, using the resources we have within our community.
We operate as a social model supported by clinical oversight. The heart of what we do is programming, because engagement, relationships, movement, creativity, and routine are what allow individuals to thrive.
Our environment is strengthened through teamwork that allows us to recognize changes early, respond appropriately, and support participant safety. The healthcare monitoring role focuses on observing, communicating, and partnering with the team so we can adapt, meet participant needs, and preserve independence.
Our work is interdisciplinary by design. Programming, activities, nutrition services, nursing, and support staff function as one team. Each role is essential. Each perspective is valuable. No single department carries the experience alone — we support one another so participants receive thoughtful, well-rounded care.
We are intentional in who we serve. Our admission process is about determining whether we are the right fit for each other, not simply filling a seat. When participants enter our doors, we want to know we can support them well and that they can benefit from the environment we provide.
We ensure resources are available to meet participant needs, and we guide families with honesty and compassion. If another setting is better equipped to provide the level of support needed, we will assist with the transition in any way we can.
Observation in this setting is everyone’s responsibility. Strong programs are built on many different levels — noticing subtle changes, communicating effectively, and responding early. This awareness allows us to adjust programming, support health needs, and promote continued success.
We do not rush decisions that impact participant well-being. Thoughtfulness guides our actions, knowing that doing what is right is always more important than doing what is easy or convenient.
Our commitment extends beyond participants to the caregivers who trust us. By providing a safe and engaging environment, we offer families not only relief — but reassurance.
Above all, we lead with integrity. Every decision is grounded in what is best for the participant, not what is easiest or fastest for the organization. When we hold that standard, we protect the culture we are building and ensure that Stanly Adult Care Center, Inc. remains a place of warmth, respect, and purpose for all who enter here.
This is more than opening a center. It is about building a community.
