Janitorial Aide (Part Time)
Reports to: Custodian
Summary:
The Janitorial Aid supports the Custodian in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility, ensuring a clean and safe environment for participants, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing common areas, restrooms, and offices.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down spaces for events, activities, and meetings.
- Restock cleaning supplies, paper products, and hand sanitizers in designated areas.
- Support the Maintenance/Janitorial Manager in basic facility upkeep and minor repairs.
- Ensure proper disposal of trash and recycling materials.
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns to the Custodian.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall operations and mission of the center.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

Facility Cook
Reports to: Executive Director
Summary:
The Facility Cook is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals to participants, adhering to dietary guidelines, and ensuring compliance with state health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Planning and Preparation:
- Develop menus that meet the nutritional needs of participants, considering special dietary requirements.
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with planned menus, ensuring quality and taste.
- Kitchen Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, complying with health and safety standards.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food to prevent contamination.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor food supplies and place orders as needed to maintain adequate inventory levels.
- Keep accurate records of purchases and usage.
- Compliance:
- Adhere to all relevant state regulations and standards, including those outlined in the North Carolina Adult Day Care and Day Services Standards for Certification.
- Participate in required training and stay updated on best practices in food preparation and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall operations and mission of the center.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in institutional or large-scale cooking preferred.
- Knowledge of dietary guidelines and special dietary needs.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- ServeSafe Certification

Activity Coordinator
Reports to: Program Director
Summary:
The Activity Coordinator plans, organizes, and facilitates engaging activities that promote social, physical, and emotional well-being for participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a monthly calendar of activities that cater to participants’ interests and abilities.
- Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, and exercise programs.
- Coordinate special events, outings, and community engagement opportunities.
- Adapt activities to meet the needs of participants with varying levels of ability.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and ensure proper setup for activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall operations and mission of the center.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Social Work, or related field (preferred).
- 1-2 years of experience in activity coordination or a similar role.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for working with diverse populations.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- CPR and First Aid Certification
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage in activities for extended periods.
- Capability to lift up to 30 pounds to set up or clean activity spaces.
- Comfortable bending, reaching, and moving supplies as needed.
